James' cb750 build

I got started on this one last week. Ripped the donor apart and snatched the front half of of the frame. Bent up a new rear section from 1" DOM steel tubing. Cut out some drop-outs from 1/2" plate and got it all jigged together. Coming together nicely so far. This is the same bike that had the pocket knife sticking out of it in an earlier blog entry. More to come.....

Brady's cb750

I met Brady on the EDR. He looked me up when we got back and brought me his cb750 project for a hardtail job. I chopped it off pretty far forward to get rid of those huge rear motor mounts and get the weight down to a respectable range. Extended the backbone and added a seat tube which takes on the chore of rear motor mount as well. The fork tubes will be replaced with a shortened set. He's been working on getting it all together since he got it back from me and will hopefully be ripping up the eastern pennsylvania streets shortly.

EDR friends

I just got an Email from a guy I met on the EDR. He and his crew from St. Louis loaned us tools and trailer space as we came out with 4 bikes, minimal tools and no chase vehicle. Together with the Pennsylvania Posse, the New Englanders, and our new Canadian friends we (NJ) had a great time on that run. Whenever I see, hear from or talk to someone from the run I relive the whole experience over in my mind. I didn't take many photos on the ride but I remember every turn and straight-a-way. Every gas stop and every meal shared with friends. I don't remember every drink or sleeping much the first 2 nights.  That is a whole 'nother story, apologies to anyone I spilled beer on. I met a lot of great people on that ride and will never forget them as long as I shall live. I have no pictures of them all but I got a good few of them here in this shot just before we all parted company at the Border at Tecate. Yes, we took a different way home, just to get more time in the saddle. VIVA la EDR!!!!

petey's sedan

Petey is one of my best friends. He is the guy you go to if you need a real honest opinion. No BS, just like his hot rod. This shot of petey's 1932 ford tudor sedan is one of my favorite pix. of all time. I drool over it all the time and figured I'd share it with everyone else. Petey's dad bought the car sometime in the early 80s and collected a ton of street rod parts for it and never got around to it. He gave it to Petey, who tossed those parts aside in favor of traditional parts. He upgraded to hydraulic '40 ford brakes, a set of headers and tube shocks and some steel wheels. It's a real driven hot rod and man does he drive it. Every chance I get I jump in for a cruise with him. I love the way the 21 stud motor sounds in this car. And seeing his face while at the wheel reminds me why I love hot rods.
